(Springfield, Illinois) Racing action on Thanksgiving weekend has a lot of choices but 4T Tyson Paris racing elected to try the historical Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield, Illinois known for it mile racing facility but we only got the chance to try the indoor track at the coliseum. The facility was great and weather was okay with 40degree weather a little cool but the action was hot on and off the track. Tyson checked into the race as a cadet but was the only driver so made the move up to the junior one class for the first time. He really did a awesome job taking a second in the first heat and first in the second heat. The feature was going good till a left from spindle would break sending the young race into the wall and catching a hay bale on fire. Tyson wasn’t hurt but the kart was. When he went to the infield a crowd clapped giving him a standing ovation for his efforts and they new the young racer was okay. We would like to Thank everyone who helped make it a great weekend from Mom, Tyler Heckart, Tony Gaylord, A.J. Tournear , Billy Tournear and Quincy Godfather and Quincy Godmother for everything. We want to Thank our sponsors for the support and motor builder Dustin Westercamp of Midwest Kartworks of Farmington, Iowa for the power. The awesome setup and tires from Mr. Gaylord. Also congratulations to the Leer girls on the wins.

Tyson would lead from start to finish taking the win in the second heat. The crew made more adjustments and made it ready for the feature. Tyson would start outside of 88h Kale Hemsley and would get the lead going into turn one and never made a mistake and the race went green to checkered. Tyson had to hold off Hemsley who tried several times to close the gap and was waiting for Tyson to make a mistake but Tyson keep it smooth and took the win. This was a clean sweep of the money races with the Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day special money races with all three wins. On Sunday we went to the Shimek Speedway in Farmington for the Sunday afternoon races and it was a learning experience with different track conditions. We fought a tight condition all day long but finally made some adjustments to improve the kart for the driver. Tyson would finish third in the feature but after post race inspection the 15C of Cole Palmer was disqualified due to a illegal restrictor plate so Tyson took home the runner-up spot to Aaron Happs. The crew made the changes needed and got ready for the feature and mother-nature played her game and forced the crew to cancel the program. Tyson got a nice trophy to add to his collection. We got a chance to meet a lot of different people and would like to Thank Matt DeJong on giving us a black restrictor and big thanks to Scott with Chain Draggone for his help and making the adjustments to correct the tension on the rear wheel. The night started off with bearing problems in the right rear before hot laps and the Tournear boys AJ and Richard/moback made the long trip from North Carolina and they help the 4T team with the bearing change. This couldn’t slow down the 4T machine. The track was really fast with Tyson turning his best laps of the season with 13.45 lap time in heat one. The track slowed down in the second heat but Tyson never slowed his machine down and he took the checkers in both heats setting up a pole position starting spot. Tyson was just as fast and smooth in the feature taking his third win of the 2010 season and second straight at the Shimek Speedway. With a steady rain and racing surface turning into a ice skating rink action was called off and features was awardees based off feature line-up. SHIMEK SPEEDWAY HOLDS COLD SEASON OPENER (Farmington, Iowa) With temps in the 50’s and lows in the 30’s and winds over 20mph it was a very cold season opener at the Shimek Speedway in Farmington. We arrived at the track and Tyson drew 22 to give him a front row starting spot in heat one and would take the runner-up spot. The second heat Tyson would start fifth with a good run making some really nice passes and would take the win. This would setup a pole position starting spot. Tyson would pace the field for the first two laps before settling in to the second spot but would spin with three laps remaining and would bring caution out. Tyson would restart fifth and would race his way back to battle for second spot but would finish third by just inches to Heuston who took second. Tyson was the youngest racer in the class with him just being six years old and handled things very well against some ten and eleven year old racers in the rookie class. We had a great time and want to thank Tyler Heckart a junior 2 driver whose stuff wasn’t ready and ventured down and helped us out. It was great seeing the Quincy Godfather Lon Tournear along with the Family Affair Racing Team with A.J. and Billy. Next week will be another visit to the Shimek Speedway.

In 2008 we visited in the kid kart division and took a third place finish. We checked in and Tyson pulled out the lucky number 85 on the draw. TYSON PARIS RACING MAKES FIRST TRIP TO MISSOURI STATE FAIRGROUNDS THE COLISEUM (Sedalia, Missouri) On Saturday December 5th we made the trip to the Coliseum at the Missouri State Fairgrounds just under 3-1/2 hour trip payoff with a hat trick. Tyson would visit the track for the first time and after hot laps he really liked the track and we made some adjustments to the kart before the first heat. When Tyson checked in he drew for his starting spot and the first heat started on the pole and Tyson made it payoff and took the checkers in the first heat. The second heat Tyson would start in the back due to the invert and Tyson didn’t waist anytime and made his way to the front and took the checkers in the second heat and improved his lap times. The feature would see a couple cautions but Tyson would improve his lap times again and crossed the line first for the win. We got a lot of short track experience and seat time and I would like say if you haven't been to the Missouri State Fairgrounds in Sedalia, Missouri and raced at the Coliseum you’re missing out on a great time. (Downing, MO.) Tyson Paris racing made the return visit to the Show-Me-Speedway with 68 karts checked in for competition on a very beautiful Saturday evening. The rookie division was put together with a total of eight karts in the division. Tyson would draw number 41 that would give him a third row outside starting spot for the first heat. Tyson was fast and he tried to run the high- side of the track but would finish in the fifth spot. In the second heat Tyson would start outside the second row and would run third most of the race before making the pass for the second spot and finished in the runner-up spot in the second heat. This would setup a second row outside starting spot and Tyson would take the green but contact between him and another kart sent Tyson spinning in turn two. When he spun Tyson would slide up the track backwards killing the motor and the crew at the Show-Me-Speedway doesn’t restart any of the drivers and this forced Tyson to make the trip back to the pit area on the crash cart. I would like to thank Ron Gardner for the track preparation it was a great track and the action was exciting and we showed a 11.14 second lap which was Tyson’s fastest lap at Downing this year. We checked into the rookie beginner class and Tyson’s drew thirty-six giving him a outside front row start. Tyson wasted no time jumping out to the lead and leading till the white flag flew and the 4T machine spun in turn two but was able to get going to take the win. The second heat Tyson would take the lead and cruise to the win. This would setup a pole position start and Tyson would get off the line with the lead and lead till lap four before Tyson and Casey Taylor would make contact sending Tyson spinning. The yellow flag would fly Tyson would get his spot back and Taylor would goto the back for the contact. Tyson would restart the field and lead the final five laps for his first rookie win of 2009. Tyson drew the rear again with six karts in the class and Tyson being the youngest we new it was going to be a challenge. We would finish fifth in the first heat and fourth in the second heat and take home a fifth in the feature. The crew-chief made the wrong call by putting a new set of tires on the kart and this made a really loose condition. Tyson has been learning the different feel for the kart and track conditions along with the crew trying to figure out the gearing and setup. This week we’ll return to the Show-Me-Speedway in Downing Mo. for the third visit of 2009 season.

May 27 When we pulled into the track they had received over a ¼” of rain making things really wet. Ben Smith who operates the track made the call to wait 2 hours and see if they could work the track in. The track was packed in and hot laps started at 7:15 and the night was a success. Tyson drew number 41 in check in giving him a third row outside starting spot in heat number one. He held his own and passed one to finish fifth. The second heat Tyson started second row inside and made his way to third and later passed for second spot and took the runner up spot in heat two. The feature Tyson started outside of row two and raced his way to fifth and was making a move for fourth when lap traffic would make for four wide racing and Tyson spun his machine after contact in turns three and four ending up in a sixth place finish out of eight good rookies. Tyson would take hot laps and learn the feel for the new ride and did a great job. The first and second heat Tyson elected to start at the rear of both heats and learned the feel for passing he finished third in the first heat and third in the second heat. He started the main from the back and he finished in the fourth spot for his first event of 2009. He got his first trophy of the year and it being a bright red trophy and he was very happy and enjoyed the new kart he’s riding. The team packed up and headed back for Ottumwa with lighting to the west of the track they new it might be along drive home. They made the stop at Casey’s General store in Farmington at around 8:45PM and got the tank filled and some dinner and headed for home taking almost two hours running thru very heavy rain.
